What Are the Top Camping Destinations for 2025?

Buying a new RV is an exciting time, but it’s only the beginning of the adventure. The United States is packed with great camping spots and RV-friendly destinations, but there are so many that it can be challenging to choose which one to visit first. We’ve gathered our favorite RV camping regions for 2025 to help you get started on the right foot, so let’s get rolling. 

Austin, Texas 

Austin is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Texas, so it’s no surprise to see it land on our list of the top camping destinations for 2025. The city offers a thriving music scene and some of the best food in the country, including amazing BBQ. Austin is also the state capital of Texas, so there’s plenty of history and a wealth of sights to see. 

Black Hills, South Dakota 

South Dakota is known for Mount Rushmore and stunning natural scenery, and the Black Hills region delivers easy access to the best the state has to offer. The area features caves, hiking, sightseeing, and enough culture and history to keep the family busy for days. Additionally, Mount Rushmore is a short drive away, and the nearby Custer State Park has plenty of wildlife and scenic viewing opportunities. 

Branson, Missouri 

Branson combines a long list of outdoor activities with family-friendly music and fun. The region offers fantastic fishing and hiking opportunities, and the Silver Dollar City Theme Park has something for guests of all ages. There are several well-known RV parks in and around Branson, with some offering discounts and exclusive access to local attractions. 

Coeur d’Alene, Idaho 

Idaho is one of the most stunning natural treasures in the country, and the Coeur d’Alene area is absolutely beautiful. The region features hiking, boating, sightseeing, and more. The Silverwood Theme Park has four roller coasters, a water park, and other attractions with a range of rides for all ages.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee 

There’s a reason the Great Smoky National Park is the most visited park in the country: It’s absolutely breathtakingly beautiful, and the area is packed with great food, outdoor activities, and scenery. Gatlinburg sits right in the middle of the mountains and has grown into a mountain-bound mecca of shopping, amusement parks, and tourist attractions.  

Lake Tahoe, California/Nevada 

The Lake Tahoe region is home to some of the country’s most beautiful scenery and most compelling outdoor activities. Biking, skiing, boating, camping, and other activities are just a stone’s throw away from most of the area’s RV parks, and there’s enough diversity in the seasons to make Lake Tahoe an excellent year-round destination.

Sanibel Island, Florida 

Florida’s Gulf Coast offers warm waters and wide-open views that make it a fantastic RV destination. Activities include sunset cruises, nature walks, and wildlife viewing at the nearby J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge.
